A Very Arzno Christmas
Saturday, December 24, 2005
How excited am I? I'll tell you... very excited! It's Christmas Eve, after all.
Important Announcement: Palladium Needs Your Help! Long story short, somebody has been stealing massive amounts of merchandise and collectables from the Palladium office and selling them off, partly on the Internet. Please read Palladium's Press Release on the matter and if you have any information, please contact them immediately. They are working with police to prosecute and anything you might know would be a great help.
If you or someone you know has purchased something online that you think might be stolen, please contact the Palladium office (contact details in the release). They aren't after fans that innocently bought stolen property and aren't looking to go after people that didn't know any better. Palladium is a great company that does way more than they have to for the fans; now we can return their kindness.
Palladium Press Release: New Arzno Info! A release date, and even a World Book number, all found in the new Palladium Press Release!
And, something that even I have missed in the hustle and bustle of recent Palladium announcements is that one of my previous Rifter® articles, titled P.P.E. Channeling, is going to be in the upcoming Best of the Rifter®, also coming in March. This is easily the most popular thing that I have written to date, and I'm thrilled that it will be included in this collection. More information can be found in the most recent Press Release.
Palladium Announced Open House Not much for me to say here, other than check out this awesome announcement from Palladium. On May 6-7, 2006 (with a special engagement on May 5) Palladium will open its doors to fans for an Open House. Two days of gaming and hanging out with the staff and fans. How cool is that?
Rifts: Chaos Earth Maps Now Online Well boys and girls, I promised this about a million years ago, but here they are... my Chaos Earth maps used in my games at Gen Con Indy 2005. They're the real deal, to scale, and totally adaptable to whatever game you cared to use them in. I hope you enjoy them! Drop me a line if you do, and I'll make some more. Requests are welcome, as always.
Official Title for Arzno Released So, according to Palladium's new press release the title of my Arzno book will be Rifts® Arzno™ – The Vampire Incursion™.
FYI I've had a couple of questions on this, so I'll clarify. The creepy picture of my eyes (yes, they are my eyes) is not permanant. I just don't step in front of the camera that often. Since my shutterbug mother just got a new camera and we have family stuff coming up for the holidays, I've been told it won't be a problem for long.
Arzno Gets a Thumbs-Up, and More Work Ahead I spoke to Kevin Siembieda, president of Palladium Books, the other day and after giving the book a quick look, he says that Arzno looks good. I think I'm going to do one bit of editing on it, bringing it into line with the new Rifts® Ultimate Edition tweaks and rule changes.
Post-Gen Con Press Release Palladium has posted a release with some pictures from Gen Con. Check out all of the zany antics here. Back from Gen Con, Back to Work Gen Con was amazing. I can't even begin to express how much fun I had. I got to meet Kevin Siembieda (president of Palladium Books) and a bunch of the staff, plus most of the other freelancers who I have only known via email and the Internet for the past couple of years. I ran a few games and played in a few more. It was so great!
Gen Con Indy! I've got to say I'm super-excited for this. It's
going to be great. My wife and I will be arriving on early Thursday afternoon,
and I expect to be at the convention by 2:00 or 3:00 pm. My first stop will be
the Palladium booth. This will be my first major convention. Up until now, it's just been AggieCon and ProtoCon in College Station, TX.
Something tells me it won't really compare. If you didn't snag a spot in one of my Rifts®
Chaos Earth games before pre-registration ended, fear not. There is at least
one spot open in each of the three games, so if you hurry you can grab a spot
once you get to the convention. Here are the game numbers, times, and
descriptions: Arzno Update I just got word that the Palladium office has received my manuscript, so we're good to go. Now the real waiting begins. Tick, tick tick...
Rifts® World Book: Arzno My first book is done, and out the door. Hallelujah! Now just the agony of waiting for it to hit the shelves. Don't get too antsy... it will be a while. This is just my guess, but I'm thinking sometime in the next six to eighteen months.
Aside from that, I sent off the last revisions on Rifts® World Book 28: Arzno™ – Vampire Incursion™ to Palladium yesterday (updates to the new edition of Rifts®). I spoke to Kevin and he told me that the March release date should still be good. What better Christmas present could you ask for?
I hope that the holiday brings you nothing but good cheer and happiness. I have had such a blessed year and I hope for the same for all of you.
Merry Christmas!

I'm going to be working on some new touch-ups for the site in other ways as well, just as soon as I get my final edits on Arzno done. Can't have you people getting bored...

I'm also doing some outlines for new projects and getting some feedback from Kevin this week. I think we're on the same page, so I should be off my break and back to writing very soon.

To follow that up, I might be running a couple of games at FenCon in Dallas. I'm still looking into it to see if there is enough interest. FenCon is a young endeavor, but if you think you might be interested in playing in a game there, let me know. Check it out at www.fencon.org.
Update, 8/25/05: I've also been made aware of another convention called AnimeFest that has some gaming. It's over Labor Day weekend in Dallas, so if anyone is interested in playing in a game there, let me know. Check out the convention at www.animefest.org.

retake and hold vital strong points against demonic invaders. This game is
very combat-oriented, with extensive use of familiar and brand-new power

That a big enough window for you?
Fear not. I'll give an update when I know more. For now I'm happy to be
moving on to other work for Palladium that I can really sink my teeth into. Even
I don't know all of the details of the new project yet, but I'll share what I
can, when I can.
