Spend Two Minutes To Benefit The Gaming Hobby

Happy Monday, gamers. I'm sure, like me, you're struggling through your work day, fueled only by caffeine and the thoughts of the upcoming weekend, which is probably a long one if you're here in the States.

To help you survive the drag of this most hellish of all days, I invite you to take two minutes to give something back to the gaming hobby. Find out more, below.

I'm sure we all know the social benefits of gaming. To help establish this, the Psychology Department at Middle Tennessee State University. It's quick, doesn't collect any personal information, and will hopefully establish what we already know: that gaming with people is good for you.

Already did this one. Tempted to do it again, but for scientific authenticity think I'll leave it alone. Either way, Re-Tweeted it for you.

I did a similar study on gaming for a sociology class recently, focused more on online communities. Was interesting to see just how wide the social networks for gamers could be. Sad I didn't have anything near a significant sample size for it, but it was still impressive.

Done. Good survey save for the question regarding my race/ethnicity. I absolutely detest such questions as we'll never progress beyond the matter if we don't stop giving it audience.

I think the survey could be improved (I stopped half-way through because several questions seemed out of order which effected my answers).

@Lloyd, I think you're missing the point of ethnic questions. Race/ethnicity most certainly does have an effect on people's life experiences (and in the sense of how they come to the gaming world or how they play, would seem relevant here).

To pretend that ethnic/cultural differences play no part in shaping who we are and the choices we make is just plain ignorance. Yes, we can all try harder to overcome stereotypes, but to say "we'll never progress beyond the matter if we don't stop giving it audience" is tantamount to saying if we ignore the problem it will go away.
