Complete Characters #10: Hlifsteinn, Barbarian Witch-Hunter

This is Complete Characters #10. Who loves ya? Huh? Free stuff galore, here on Jason Richards cannot be trusted.

We celebrate an additional digit in our numbering of characters by exploring a character that probably can't count that high. It's not his fault. He's a barbarian, so he didn't make it to math class much as a kid.

Hlifsteinn is the aging leader of a consecrated society of witch-hunters. They travel from clan to clan, impartially delivering justice in the form of decapitations of any who are found to be in league with The Demon, their ancient adversary. A lot of information is presented on the barbarian culture and the witch-hunting society, all of which would be perfect additions to your game.

Barbarians get a bad wrap. All kidding about counting aside, characters that don't conform to our modern model of civilization are a great way to spice up a game. They really shouldn't be played across the boards as ignorant oafs, like a monster race in human form. Naive about the "civilized" world? Sure. But, the average barbarian had a rich cultural and religious life, even if it was a bit rough around the edges.

So, game on, and enjoy Hlifsteinn, Barbarian Witch-Hunter. He's available as a free PDF in the Downloads section to the right of the screen.

EDIT: This Complete Character has been updated, and is now #1 in the new series of downloads available at DriveThruRPG. You can still check out the download link to the right, or just get it here.
